For our text tasting event, we are thrilled to welcome Thom Sichta, National Director of Sales for Brittan Vineyards to the shop. On Wednesday, February 21 at 6 p.m., Thom will lead us through a lineup of five fantastic wines from their Willamette Valley vineyards.
Robert Brittan spent more than 30 years working as a winemaker in Napa Valley, first for Far Niente and then for Stags’ Leap. But he held a desire to craft Pinot Noirs and Syrahs from a cooler climate. In 2004, after a long search, Robert and his wife Ellen bought a 128-acre parcel of forest land in the Willamette Valley. He planted 18 acres of Pinot Noir in the mix of basalt and volcanic soils. Today Brittan Vineyards produces six different expressions of Pinot Noir, along with an Estate Chardonnay and Estate Syrah.
At this event, we will have the opportunity to experience Brittan’s current Chardonnay release, and four Pinot Noir from different parts of the vineyard.
