What a brilliant play of scents! Cool, subtle, almost elevated above itself. First florally fragrant at the start with lots of white flowers and even a little jasmine (jasmine!!!). Then, after a little contact with the air pure slate minerality and smoky elements of wet flint. The fruit is submissive in the bouquet and completely subordinate to the minerality with its strong character. Only gradually does the lovely fruit take its rightful place. Extremely mouth-watering on the palate, with a juicy fruit flavour and delicate, aparent sweetness. The racy acidity really stretches out like a bow and aims its vibrating arrow right into the fruity centre of the sweetness. This results in an incredibly refined interplay on the palate. A Spätlese with great inner richness, but all kept in a slender format. Offers lots of juicy pull with the best drinking animation, underpinned with smoky mineral tones in the wonderful, almost floating finish. This it the best!
