Idilico Albariño (2023) – Our Albariño comes from Dutchmen vineyard a 6 acre planting of Albariño in a cooler area of the Yakima Valley north of Prosser. The vineyard was planted by the DenHoed brothers in 2005 and managed in partnership with us. The vineyard is spur trained on two cordons with VSP. The canopy is allowed to sprawl to provide shade and preserve freshness in the fruit. The fruit typically ripens in late September and yields hover around five tons per acre. Winemaking comprised of straight forward stainless-steel fermentation and aging with moderate lees contact for four months. Malolactic fermentation was discouraged. The wine was lightly cold stabilized, fined and filtered before being bottled on April, 2024. The bright pale straw color wine shows notes of stone fruit and citrus followed by great acidity and fresh flavors. Drink anytime the sun shines.
