Esja Dineen Vineyard Cabernet Franc (2022) – Fruit from this vineyard is known for producing wines that are rich in color, have refined tannins, and high acidity. The Cab Franc was picked on the earlier side to retain acid, but since 2022 was a long cool growing season, it had plenty of time to develop complexity and tannin. In the winery it went through 15 percent carbonic maceration, the rest destemmed and fermented with wild yeast. It was aged in neutral French oak for 9 months, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. The nose leads with fresh ripe raspberry, and has subtle notes of black tea and herbs on the back end. This Cab Franc is juicy and mouthwatering.
