Domaine Taupenot-Merme Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru ‘La Riotte’ (2020) Touches of wood and menthol are present on the nose of black pinot fruit, spice, violet and warm earth where the latter element is picked up by the delicious middle weight flavors that are suave and mouth coating before concluding in a raspy but not really rustic finale that also delivers fine depth and persistence. There is a touch of warmth but overall, this too should repay a decade plus of keeping.
