Domaine Michel Gros Hautes Côtes de Nuits Fontaine Saint Martin Monopole (2018)

A discreetly floral-infused nose speaks of relatively strong aromas of pomegranate, red currant and a hint of undergrowth. It has just a little more volume with caressing but punchy flavors that possess better complexity than any of the previous Burgundy examples, although the finish is grippy, short and slightly dry. Whether it will harmonize better over time or not is unclear. -Allen Meadows, Burghound
