This Saint Joseph La Gloriette is from 45 to 65-year-old vines, which interestingly benefit from being north facing as the windiness means for a longer ripening period, producing an intense, characterful wine which will benefit from ageing. The Syrah is a dark garnet colour. The nose opens with small black fruits, enhanced by graphite and toasted bread. The palate is a blend of black fruits, spices and braised/pepper notes supported by a velvety tannic structure.
