Didier Dagueneau Blanc Etc… (2019)
The Blanc Etc.. was the cuvee previously called Blanc de Pouilly Fume. Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau had an ongoing beef with the local authorities and he has now completely withdrawn from the appellation system, so all reference to Pouilly Fume has been removed from the Domaine’s labels! They are all Vin de France… the lowest level of the pyramid. It is the most accessible and early-drinking of Dagueneau’s wines, and is the only non-soil or vineyard-specific expression, being a blend of fruit from four different sites, that were fermented in a mix of new and old barrels and then matured in both wood and steel. It’s a vibrant, stunningly-expressive wine, racy and pure with some leesy creaminess.
