Devison is charting an entirely new path for Sauvignon Blanc in Washington. Half of this fruit was skin soaked for 40 hours and the other half went direct to press. All were aged in neutral French oak and then blended back together with partial malolactic fermentation. The aromas bring notes of citrus, flower, sea shell, kiwi, the underside of a pineapple, mineral, grapefruit pith and Smarties. Boom! The palate explodes with flavor, full of texture and tension. It has weight without being heavy. Electric, puckering, lemon-lime acidity backs it up. The finish won’t quit—the best the winery has made to date.
