Château de Pez Saint-Estèphe (2021) – Wild strawberry and juicy cherry, infused with pink rose and sandalwood on the nose. The palate is and sweet, revealing fruity strawberry and floral notes of violet. The tannins are present, but fine and elegant. A lot of roundness and a nice balance between power and freshness. The bud break started at the end of March. Then, beginning of June, the flowering was accompanied by record rainfall. A cool and humid summer led to a slow veraison and ripening, before the harvest took place from the 23rd of September to the 7th of October. The thermal inertness of the clay soils of Saint-Estèphe was a real asset for the Pez vineyard in 2021.
