A & G Fantino Barolo Bussia ‘Cascina Dardi’ Riserva (2015)
Product Description
The Fantinos are also blessed with some of the oldest vines in the entire Barolo zone, thanks to the fastidious care given to them by Alessandro and Gian Natale. Planted in 1946 and 1947 and pruned in an old style that is very labor intensive, they produce grapes that would be the envy of any Barolista.
The 2015 Barolo Bussia Cascina Dardi is dark and brooding in the glass. Unlike the Laboro Disobedient, which is so open, the Cascina Dardi is a behemoth. Swaths of tannin give the Dardi a real feeling of power. Black cherry, spice, menthol graphite and scorched earth add to the wine’s distinctive, virile feel. The 2015 is an unusually potent wine for both the year and Fantino, but it has so much to give, for those who can wait.
