Due to popular demand, we added a second date for our Tuscany tasting event!
We are excited to invite you to our next tasting event, an exploration of wines from Tuscany! On Tuesday, October 22 at 6 p.m., we welcome back Travis Doyle, now with Vinespire Imports, who will lead us through a tasting of five incredible red wines from this iconic region.
Tuscany may be one of the best-known Italian regions and what many people picture when they think of Italian wine. Nearly all red wine in this region is made with the Sangiovese grape, but Tuscany’s distinct mesoclimates and Sangiovese’s many clones give wines from each subregion unique characteristics. Located near the city of Florence, Tuscany is bordered by the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west and low mountains to the east. Its rolling hills divide the region into diverse subregions, with varied elevations, temperatures, and soil types.
This tasting features five wines from four of these different regions. We have a Chianti Classico from the heart of Tuscany, an easy-drinking Rosso di Montepulciano, both a Brunello and Rosso from historic Montalcino, and a Rosso from one of the smallest regions – Montecucco.
TASTING LINEUP:
