Due to popular demand, we added a second date for our Tuscany tasting event!
We are excited to announce our next tasting event, an exploration of the fantastic wines from Tuscany, Italy. Join us on Wednesday, April 17 at 6 p.m. as our own Travis Doyle will lead us through five incredible wines from this famed region.
This tasting features Sangiovese wines, as well as blends known as “Super Tuscans.” The term Super Tuscan came about in the late 1970s and is an umbrella term used to describe blends from Tuscany that often include grapes that are not indigenous to Italy. Much of Italy’s wine regions are strictly regulated regarding the type of grapes that can be used. Winemakers became frustrated with the Italian government’s restrictions and began experimenting with different blends. Wine laws finally changed in 1992 to formally allow these blends.
