For our next tasting event, we are excited to present a lineup of wines from Spain! Join us on Tuesday, March 26 at 6 p.m. when Travis Doyle will pour five fantastic red wines that showcase the diversity in wine that Spain has to offer.
Spain is a renowned wine-producing country, celebrated for its diverse and quality wines. It boasts the largest vineyard surface area in the world, with distinct climatic zones that foster a variety of grape types. The country’s wine-making history stretches back millennia, influencing its rich culture and gastronomy.
This tasting will highlight five distinct Spanish wine regions. Rioja and Ribera del Duero are located the northwest part of the country and are known for complex Tempranillos. Bierzo is also located in the north but has a cooler and wetter climate. Jumilla in the hot south is home to robust and fruity Monastrell wines. We will also try a wine from the Canary Islands, whose volcanic soils lead to rich, mineral-driven reds.
