Wine Tasting – Sleight of Hand with Winemaker Trey Busch

We are thrilled to welcome Sleight of Hand co-founder and winemaker Trey Busch to the shop for our next tasting! At this exclusive event on Wednesday, March 20 at 6 p.m., Trey will showcase five wines from Sleight of Hand’s fantastic lineup.

Trey started in the wine business with the Dunham Cellars family, which gave him the foundation for his winemaking and philosophy. Trey fell in love with the winemaking process on the first day of crush in September of 2000, and that journey led him to Sleight of Hand Cellars. Trey is in charge of, and oversees, the winemaking, keeping his finger on the pulse of what is happening in the vineyards and cellar. He also shares the sales and marketing duties with Jerry, traveling to far-away places to spread the Sleight of Hand love around the country

Sleight of Hand Cellars, was established in 2007 by Trey Busch, Jerry, and Sandy Solomon and has rapidly emerged as a beacon of excellence in the wine industry. Avid music lovers, the founders say that “Our only goal from the outset has been to make world class wines while having the most fun that is legally possible.” The winery’s tasting rooms in Walla Walla and Seattle are celebrated for their vast music collection and vibrant atmosphere, which encapsulates the Sleight of Hand lifestyle—a blend of superior wine, eclectic music, and sheer enjoyment.

TASTING LINEUP:

‘The Enchantress’ Old Vine Chardonnay 2021
Fermented and aged in primarily neutral oak. Notes of granny smith apple, lemon curd, honeyed almonds, and white flowers.

‘The Conjurer’ Red Blend 2020
A blend of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Cabernet Franc, and 17% Merlot. Notes of ripe cherry, spicy plums, tobacco, and tea leaves.

‘The Illusionist’ Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Aged 20 months in 60% new French oak. Classic Cabernet notes of pencil lead, blueberries, black currants, tobacco, and ripe plum.

‘Psychedelic’ Syrah 2020
From Stoney Vine Vineyard in the Rocks District. Smoky bacon, black olives, crushed blackberries, and dried flower petals.

‘Archimage’ Reserve Red Blend 2021
A blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Notes of Bing cherry, dark plums, Asian spices, rose petals, and leather.
