For our next tasting event, we invite you to join us on the patio to explore Pét-nat wines! On Tuesday, July 2 at 6 p.m., Stuart Mitton with Owen Kotler Selections will lead us through five delightfully fun and refreshing wines.
What exactly is a Pét-nat wine? Pét-nat is short for “pétillant naturel,” which translates literally to “natural sparkling.” To make these wines bubbly, the winemaker bottles the wine before the initial fermentation is complete. This allows fermentation to continue while in the bottle, creating a softly fizzy wine. Pét-nats can be made from many grape varietals, and are usually a little hazy since they are unfiltered.
This tasting will feature five different wines from across the world, including unique varietals from Slovenia and Croatia!
