For our next tasting event, we are pleased to welcome Kevin Schlachter, Director of Sales for Nicolas-Jay wines to the shop! Join us on Thursday, June 6 at 6 p.m. as we taste Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from this esteemed Willamette Valley winery.

Nicolas Jay was founded in 2011 by legendary Burgundian wine maker Jean-Nicolas Méo (of the Méo-Camuzet family) and music entrepreneur Jay Boberg. The two first met in 1988 and their shared love of Pinot Noir drew them to the Willamette Valley decades later. Their viticulture and winemaking are informed by years of working the soils of Burgundy’s Grand Crus, an understanding they bring to old-vine sites in Oregon, including their own organically farmed estate Bishop Creek vineyard, as well as their 53-acre Dundee Hills Estate.

Nicolas-Jay approaches winemaking with a steadfast belief in true artisanship, a passion for discovery and a deep respect for the land. They bring Burgundian traditions to their winemaking while aiming to express the natural elegance of Oregon’s Willamette Valley.
