Figgins Fam Wines

We are very excited to invite you to our first tasting event of 2025 featuring a selection of fantastic wines from Toil Oregon, Figgins, and Leonetti! Join us on Tuesday, February 11 at 6 p.m., when Beau Hickman, President of Figgins Family Wine Estates will lead us through wines from this esteemed wine family.

Gary and Nancy Figgins founded Leonetti Cellers in 1974 – Walla Walla Valley’s first commercial winery. They passed their love of wine and winemaking onto their son, Chris, who joined the business in 2001 as head winemaker. Today, Chris has expanded his family’s brand with wineries in both Oregon and Washington. He remains true to his family’s mission: dedicated to growing, producing, and marketing wine & food of world-class quality, sustainability, and pedigree.

The tasting features wines from across the Figgins Family Wine Estates portfolio. We will sample a rosé and Pinot Noir from Toil in the Willamette Valley; the Estate Blend from Figgins, as well as their coveted Figlia; and a stunning Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon from Leonetti Cellars.

TASTING LINEUP:

Toil Rosé 2022
A delightful coral shade, the wine opens with dazzling aromatics of crushed strawberries, white grapefruit, and watermelon rind. The palate has a refined texture with lovely fruit-driven delicacy and a refreshing, delicious finish of crisp acidity.

Toil Pinot Noir 2023
From the “Miracle Vintage” of 2022 comes this beauty with deep garnet color. It immediately draws you in with alluring aromatics of blue and black fruits, rich earth, baking spices, and dried herbs. The elegant, silky palate boasts black cherry compote with caramel and a long, dense, and pure finish.

Figgins Estate Red 2021
Exotic, perfumed nose of ripe red and black fruits with hints of grilled bread, beef tartar, and a summer garden just after rain. The enticing palate is loaded with dark red fruit and lovely hints of fresh herbs. Texturally robust and velvety with mouth-filling, integrated tannins and a glycerin finish that lasts forever. An absolutely delicious wine from a low-yielding vintage.

Figgins Figlia 2021
A delightful blend of Merlot and Petit Verdot. The nose delivers a pleasant potpourri of espresso, red currant, raspberry cobbler, graphite, violets, and fresh fir boughs. A strong structure with velvety midpalate and lingering finish with dark fruits.

Leonetti Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Dark to the rim of the glass, the 2021 Cabernet has an intoxicating perfume of ripe plum and black cherry, graham cracker, crème brûlée, and cassis. The creamy texture is flawless with tannin and acid in perfect harmony. What the 2021 vintage lacked in yield, it utterly compensated for in quality. This wine is both handsomely built for the cellar and a challenge to not enjoy in its youth.
