For our next tasting, we are thrilled to welcome celebrated winemaker Todd Alexander to the shop! Join us on Saturday, August 3 at 4 p.m., when Todd will pour five of his highly-rated wines, including a 100-point Cabernet Sauvignon from Walla Walla. (He’s also planning a special bonus pour from a new project!)

Todd’s fervor is rooted in the meticulous creation of terroir-driven wines that authentically express the distinct qualities of specific vineyard sites. His unwavering dedication encompasses both the vineyard and winery, ensuring an uncompromising approach to winemaking. Prior to joining Force Majeure, Todd held the position of Winemaker at the renowned “cult” winery, Bryant Family Vineyard, in the Napa Valley. In 2014, driven by a desire to elevate Washington state’s winemaking standards, Todd embarked on a new chapter with Force Majeure. His mission: to contribute his expertise and artistry to the creation of truly world-class wines, pushing the boundaries of winemaking excellence from our unique sites.

TASTING LINEUP:

Holocene Aureolin Chardonnay 2023
This is gorgeous, tension-filled wine with serious viscosity and verve. Lemon oil, flint, orange blossom water, and suggestions of Japanese pear all brilliantly combine on the palate. Full-bodied and full of energy. (97 Points, Owen Bargreen)

Holocene Memorialis Pinot Noir 2022
100% Whole Cluster with aromatic brambly red fruits and notes of tangy raspberry, and rooibos tea. (97 Points, Wine Enthusiast)

Beatus Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2021
Dense and heady with notes of ripe red currant, menthol, red rose petal, pomegranate seed, and anise. Very long finish. (97 Points, Owen Bargreen)

Weathereye Syrah 2020
Dark and dense with notes of wild blueberry, blue plum, roasted brisket, lush huckleberry, and sagebrush. (97 Points, International Wine Review)

Force Majeure Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Full bodied Caberent with notes of intense dark fruits, huckleberry, Turkish coffee, tobacco, and graphite. (100 Points, Owen Bargreen; 100 Points, Jeb Dunnuck: “this is going to blow your mind…an incredible, possibly legendary, Washington State Cabernet”)
