For our next tasting event, we are pleased to welcome Jonathan Edelman, Co-Founder of Foolhardy Vintners! Join us on Wednesday, June 19 at 6 p.m. as Jonathan leads us through five of his fantastic Washington wines.
Foolhardy Vintners is the partnership of Jonathan Edelman and Dan Sogg, two friends with a shared passion for wine. They started Foolhardy to make the kind of wines they both enjoy – ripe and vibrant, balancing freshness and fruit purity. Wines to share with friends. They believe that the keys to quality are simplicity and attention to detail. It starts with outstanding vineyards that consistently yield their wines with ripe, juicy flavors. The pair chose Washington because of the unlimited potential in the vineyards and the tremendous dynamism of the local wine culture. They source their grapes from premium sites across Walla Walla and the Columbia Valley and produce a variety of amazing wines.
TASTING LINEUP:
Sauvignon Blanc 2023
Aromas of citrus and crushed rocks and a delicious array of juicy tropical, lemon, lime, and mineral flavors.
Chardonnay 2022
An array of lemon oil, peach and pineapple tones with a creamy, lemon curd richness and texture, with chalky mineral undertones framing deft, fresh fruit.
FH Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of two old-vine blocks in Western Yakima: Elephant Mountain, planted in 1999, and Red Willow, planted in 1991. Features a fleshy texture and ample flavors of dark berries, dark cherries, and cocoa.
Walla Walla Malbec 2019
All of the grapes for this wine come from the Southwind Vineyard in Milton-Freewater, just outside Walla Walla. A medley of wild berries, blueberries, and cardamom spice.
Red Willow Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Enticingly perfumed and aromatic, it features a range of lovely red berry flavors, floral tones and subtle dried herb and mineral accents. The texture is silky and supple, more reminiscent of Left Bank Bordeaux than typical New World Cabernet.
