Hoquetus RBB

We are excited to invite you to our next in-store tasting event on Wednesday, October 11! Guy Harris, owner of Cru Selections will be on hand to guide us through some of his favorite Washington wines, as well as a few from across Europe.

Cru Selections is driven by a deep passion for unique, hand-crafted wines. Guy started the company in 2008 after a decade working in wine distribution. From starting as a one-man venture in Seattle, Cru has flourished into a leading wine distributor in the Northwest, serving both Washington and Idaho with a dedicated team. Located in Woodinville, amidst the wineries they proudly represent, they not only champion local gems but also cherish partnerships with like-minded European wineries. Their unwavering commitment remains: to intimately know and love the wines we represent, and to meet their clients’ discerning needs with unmatched enthusiasm and service.

TASTING LINEUP:

2021 Tement Muskateller (Austria)
Organic and certified biodynamic Austrian estate making great wines that reflect the land. Muskateller is the Austrian word for Muscat, a bright, crisp aromatic white varietal. This light and easy-going white shows orange flower, clementine, and peaches on the nose with a crisp finish.

2021 Conde Valdemar Alto Cantabria (Rioja, Spain)
White Rioja! Made from 100% old vine Viura aged in barrel to produce a white Rioja of more complexity and body. The wine offers intense peach fruit on the nose with apricot, white flowers, and spice on the nose with a long and persistent finish.

2018 Domaine Nudant Ladoix (Burgundy, France)
Ladoix is a village in Burgundy, on a northern hill near Corton. This is classic pinot noir, planted on chalky soils showing bright red fruits on the nose and strong minerality.

2021 Hoquetus RBB (Walla Walla, Washington)
Hoquetus is a tiny sustainable winery in Walla Walla, and the RBB is an elegant blend of Merlot and Cab Franc. This red blend is fruit forward and spicy, showing notes of rose petals, thyme, and blood orange.

2022 Esja Cabernet Franc (Rattlesnake Hills, Washington)
This Cab Franc comes from Dineen vineyards, one of the first vineyards to be certified by the Washington sustainable foundation. The vineyard typically produces fruit that is high acid, rich and color and has refined tannins. It’s unfiltered, unfined and aged in neutral French oak for nine months. Ripe red raspberry, black tea, and fresh herbs.
