Peter Lauer Sekt Reserve (1992)
From the Importer: This is a 100% Riesling cuvee, totally dry, made methode Champenois, hand-riddled and aged on the lees for over two decades. This is a zero-dosage wine – the first Lauer has released – and as such it’s a chiseled wine. There is a citrus, stone-fruit undercurrent, little flashes of lemon and lime pointing toward Riesling, but really, it’s the most complex, cerebral Sekt release from Lauer with a wild array of herbs and spices, from dark tobacco to sweet peas, cilantro and dill and beyond. The minerality is, as you’d expect from Saar Riesling, brilliant.
