Domaine Taupenot-Merme Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru (2019)

Slightly riper yet still agreeably fresh aromas offers up compote-like aromas of red and dark currant baked plum and the hallmark sauvage whiffs. The caressing yet powerful flavors also possess good size weight and mid-palate density all wrapped in a serious very firm and youthfully austere finale. Like several wines in the range this will need to develop more depth but the potential is here if it is allowed to develop over time. (Drink starting 2034)
